UAE and Pakistan Strengthen Strategic Relations Through High-Level Talks

The UAE and Pakistan have reaffirmed their strategic ties during talks in Islamabad led by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The discussions aimed to enhance collaboration in trade, investment, and development, resulting in the signing of agreements to strengthen cultural ties and form a Joint Business Council.

High-level discussions between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan were recently conducted in Islamabad, underscoring the strategic relationship between the two nations. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade and development.

During the meeting, which also included Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir, the leaders assessed advancements since the February visit of Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They also explored regional and global issues of mutual significance. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his pride in visiting Pakistan and reiterated both countries’ dedication to fostering their partnership for shared prosperity.

Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah held discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. This resulted in the signing of an agreement aimed at strengthening cultural ties alongside two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). One MoU is intended to establish a UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council, while the second will set up a Joint Consular Affairs Committee.

The discussions held between the UAE and Pakistan reflect a significant commitment to strengthen their strategic ties across various sectors. The agreements signed during the meetings are anticipated to bolster cultural and economic collaboration, thereby enhancing mutual benefits for both nations.
