Each sub-prefect has access to a luxury government vehicle valued at approximately 50 million CFA francs, alongside free housing and fuel allowances. While the authorities have spent an astonishing 1.45 billion CFA francs on vehicles for these officials, essential resources for public service remain underfunded.

Rather than allocating funds for luxury vehicles, they advocate using similar resources to purchase necessary office equipment, such as 29 desktop computers and backup generators, for around 49.3 million CFA francs.
