He has labeled the current constitution, established through a referendum in 2005, as “outdated”. The proposed changes have led many observers and citizens to suspect that his true intention is to manipulate presidential term limits in his favor.
It is imperative for the leadership in the Democratic Republic of Congo to prioritize genuine governance reforms that address the dire issues facing its citizens.
