Ten Heads of State to Attend Namibia’s First Woman President’s Inauguration

The inauguration of Namibia’s first female president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, will see attendance from ten heads of state, three vice presidents, and two prime ministers. The event also marks the 35th Independence Day celebrations. The government is still receiving confirmations from other countries.

Emma Theofelus, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, announced that ten heads of state, three vice presidents, and two prime ministers are scheduled to attend the inauguration of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Namibia’s first female president, on Friday. This event coincides with Namibia’s 35th Independence Day celebration.

During a press briefing at the government information conference, Minister Theofelus did not specify which countries would be represented. The government remains open to additional confirmations from nations wishing to participate either in person or through delegations.

Minister Theofelus indicated, “I also would like to communicate that because the list has not been exhausted, we continue to receive confirmations and there might be alterations to the list.” This suggests the possibility of changes in attendance as more confirmations come in.

The inauguration of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as Namibia’s first woman president is set to be a significant event, with multiple dignitaries confirmed to attend. The possibility of further confirmation of attendance highlights the government’s efforts to involve international representatives in the historical celebration. This event not only marks the inauguration but also coincides with a key national holiday for Namibia.
