Argentina Consumer Confidence Indicator Hits Yearly Low in March 2025

Argentina’s consumer confidence fell to 44.11 in March 2025, the lowest this year, down from 47.4 in January. Assessments of personal finances and purchase intentions decreased, although macroeconomic evaluations improved slightly. On a yearly basis, confidence surged by 20.27%.

In March 2025, Argentina’s consumer confidence indicator decreased to 44.11, marking a decline from January’s peak of 47.4, which was the highest level since November 2023. This reported figure represents the lowest consumer confidence level observed this year, reflecting an overall trend of reduced optimism.

The decline in confidence is evident across all three subindexes. The evaluation of personal financial situations decreased from 49.54 in February to 45.81 in March. Similarly, intentions to purchase durable goods slightly fell from 34.40 to 34.33. However, there was a marginal improvement in the assessment of the macroeconomic situation, which rose to 52.20 from 57.83.

Despite this decline in confidence, the Consumer Confidence Index exhibited a significant year-over-year increase of 20.27%.

Argentina’s consumer confidence indicator has reached a yearly low at 44.11, down from its earlier peak. Specifically, personal financial assessments and purchase intentions have diminished, indicating a broader decline in optimism.
