During a meeting with Nepal’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Mr. Gill pledged continued support for Nepal’s economic development, as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Minister Dr. Rana utilized this opportunity to urge the US government for action regarding the release of Bipin, a Nepali student abducted by Hamas in October 2023. She expressed Nepal’s hope for U.S. assistance to secure his safe return, as government efforts to address this situation remain ongoing with international support sought.

Additionally, Dr. Rana engaged in discussions with Indian Foreign Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, focusing on enhancing Nepal-India bilateral relations. Topics included mutual interests, trade partnerships, transit arrangements, and cooperation in hydropower development, reaffirming Nepal’s dedication to collaborative growth and shared benefits.

Meetings with other foreign counterparts were also held on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue, including discussions with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mihai Popsoi. Furthermore, a visa-free agreement for diplomatic passport holders was signed, marking a step towards strengthening Nepal-Ukraine relations and enhancing diplomatic collaboration with Moldova.
