In preparation for launching Project Kuiper in Indonesia, Amazon is currently obtaining operational permits and processing telecommunications licenses. In India, SpaceX has entered exploratory discussions with Vodafone Idea Ltd to potentially offer Starlink internet services, enhancing their telecommunications portfolio. Vodafone’s Chief Technology Officer mentioned the potential of satellite services to expand their reach into rural areas lacking traditional infrastructure. Notably, rivals Bharti Airtel and Jio Platforms have already established partnerships with SpaceX for similar services.
In a separate incident, the FBI categorized assaults on Tesla vehicles in Las Vegas as federal crimes following reports of cars being shot at and set on fire. Special Agent Spencer Evans reiterated the seriousness of these offenses, asserting that actions like these should not be considered justifiable. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in this instance.
Tesla has also received its first permit in California to commence its robotaxi services, which is a crucial step towards launching autonomous ride-hailing. The California Public Utilities Commission’s approval allows Tesla to operate chauffeur services, although complete approval for ride-hailing is still pending.
