The Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, strongly condemned the renewed aggressions by Israeli forces in Gaza. They called for urgent intervention by the international community to cease these actions and alleviate the humanitarian crisis impacting the Palestinian population.
During the Cabinet session, the Crown Prince provided updates on his discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, focusing on regional and international developments. The Kingdom affirmed its enduring commitment to promoting security and stability worldwide.
The Cabinet expressed support for the recent peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and welcomed the border agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, hoping for their further advancement.
Domestically, the Cabinet praised the release of the Saudi Architecture Characters Map, showcasing 19 architectural styles indicative of the Kingdom’s heritage and aimed at preserving urban culture, improving living standards, and advancing urban landscapes.
Strategies to enhance development projects and strengthen social welfare systems were deliberated, aiming to drive national progress and achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, alongside discussions on the economy’s performance and improvements in credit rating by international agencies.
The Cabinet acknowledged effective cooperation with global partners in combating drug smuggling, particularly commending Iraq’s Ministry of Interior for intercepting a large drug shipment following intelligence from Saudi Arabia.
Several memoranda of understanding were authorized during the session, including those focusing on cooperation in scientific research between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, cultural cooperation with Japan, and economic collaboration with Comoros, as well as agreements affecting tax and customs matters with Iceland and Pakistan, respectively.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved air transport service agreements with Suriname and Lithuania, as well as an MoU with UNICEF for collaborative research. An initiative for educational assessment in Mauritania and vocational training cooperation with Pakistan was also ratified.
