Ohlthaver & List Group (O&L) announced on Monday that the Pick n Pay Namibia stores will be renamed ‘Model’ effective from July 1. He stated, “Customers can look forward to a new benchmark in grocery retail that is designed around their needs – one that is inspiring, seamless and uniquely Namibian.”
Starting from July 1, 2025, Model will officially launch across Namibia, with an ongoing phased refurbishment aimed at enhancing the retail experience. Mouton expressed enthusiasm, urging Namibians to participate in this transformative journey. He remarked, “Stay tuned for more details as we unveil what’s next. The countdown to a revolutionary retail experience has begun.”
Sven Thieme, Executive Chairman of O&L, noted that the company’s retail legacy commenced with Model in 1965, and this transition signifies a return to their foundational roots. He conveyed, “This transition is more than a name change; it is a bold evolution that will redefine how Namibians shop. Our commitment to our people, both employees and customers, remains unchanged, ensuring continuity in service while introducing fresh opportunities for growth and excellence.”
In summary, O&L’s transition from Pick n Pay to Model marks a pivotal change in Namibia’s retail landscape. The new brand aims to enhance the shopping experience with quality products and customer-centric services while maintaining continuity for existing employees and clients. As the launch approaches, O&L invites Namibians to engage with this transformation.
