On Friday, high-ranking diplomats from Iran, Russia, and China convened in Beijing to discuss Iran’s nuclear matters, as reported by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV. This meeting follows Iran’s recent dismissal of U.S. directives regarding the resumption of negotiations related to its nuclear program.
In 2015, Iran entered an agreement with the United States and several other countries, including Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany, aimed at limiting its nuclear capabilities in exchange for the alleviation of international sanctions. However, this accord was undermined in 2018 when former President Donald Trump decided to withdraw the United States from the agreement, escalating tensions over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
