Under the new policy, visa applicants are required to present several documents, including round-trip tickets, hotel bookings, proof of property ownership (if applicable), and a down payment of AED 3,000. The ministry underscored that the heightened scrutiny on Pakistani applicants is a consequence of issues such as the submission of fake academic credentials and fraudulent employment contracts.
Moreover, cases of visa overstays and involvement of some Pakistani nationals in political and criminal activities have further compounded these concerns. The inappropriate use of social media by certain members of the community has also been a point of contention.
