The AI exploration initiative, initially focused on diamonds, has now expanded to uncover hidden polymetallic deposits across a substantial area of 7,322 square kilometers. The applications target five primary types of mineralisation, namely: Besshi deposits, which are rich in Copper; Greenstone deposits comprising Copper and Nickel; MVT (Mississippi Valley-type) deposits for Lead and Zinc; Sedex deposits including Lead, Zinc, and Silver; and Ultramafic deposits associated with Platinum Group Metals.
Chairman John Teeling stated, “Our comprehensive, country-wide AI driven exploration programme in Botswana initially focused on diamonds. During the initial analysis of the big database, it became clear that the AI technology could be used to identify other unknown minerals opportunities and so it turned out. Our analysis so far has identified a series of targets in copper cobalt, zinc and gold. We have applied for eleven prospecting licenses, and I am pleased to report that the applications have been accepted.”
