This extensive project, developed by the consortium of Sacyr, Acciona, and Cintra, involves a 9-mile segment of the total 22 miles of highway. The design will feature three lanes in each direction, twin tunnels, and various structures to facilitate local traffic flow.
Ayesa’s responsibilities include providing comprehensive engineering design services over a period of 35 months. This will also encompass definitive design cost estimates and feasibility studies focused on meeting regulatory, engineering, and safety standards, as detailed by Mariluz Ramírez, the transport division director for Latin America at Ayesa.
The Anillo Vial Periférico, as it is known in Peru, aims to connect 11 districts within Lima and the port city of Callao. Funded through a public-private partnership, the project will utilize toll revenue to cover operational, maintenance, and initial capital expenditures, as remarked by Peru’s Transportation Minister Raúl Pérez-Reyes.
The infrastructure will integrate building information management and intelligent transport systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. The consortium anticipates that this project will create over 70,000 jobs during construction, directly impacting around 4.5 million residents.
