Angola’s Inflation Rate Decreases to One-Year Low in February 2025

Angola’s annual inflation rate decreased to 25.26% in February 2025, its lowest rate in a year, down from 26.48% in January. Monthly consumer prices rose by 1.59%. Price increases for food, alcoholic beverages, and miscellaneous goods slowed compared to previous months.

In February 2025, Angola’s annual inflation rate dropped for the seventh month in a row, reaching 25.26%, marking the lowest level seen in a year. This decline from January’s rate of 26.48% resulted from the relative stability of the Angolan kwanza.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1.59% in February, a slight decrease from the 1.67% rise recorded in January.

Notable slowdowns in price increases were observed in several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.75%, down from 1.87% in January; alcoholic beverages registered a 1.91% increase compared to 2.02% in the previous month; and miscellaneous goods and services saw a rise of 1.67%, lower than January’s 1.84%.

The data indicates a positive trend in Angola’s inflation rates, with consistent decreases observed over the past seven months. The stability of the kwanza appears to be a contributing factor to this trend. Continued monitoring of key categories such as food and beverages may provide insights into future inflationary pressures.
