ABS-CBN Dramas Gain Popularity in Ecuador Through Engaging Storylines

ABS-CBN’s “A Family Affair” dominated ratings in Ecuador, while Ecuavisa expressed satisfaction with the integration of Filipino telenovelas. The audience responded well to the show’s romantic and dramatic elements, contributing to the success of ABS-CBN’s offerings in international markets.

ABS-CBN’s drama series “A Family Affair,” featuring prominent actors Gerald Anderson, Ivana Alawi, and Sam Milby, achieved remarkable success, attaining the highest ratings on Ecuador’s Ecuavisa network. This narrative revolves around Cherry Red, portrayed by Alawi, who inherits property from a wealthy family following the mysterious death of the family matriarch, intertwining her life with the Estrella brothers – Paco, Dave, Seb, and Drew.

Karina Medina, Programming Manager at Ecuavisa, stated, “Ecuavisa is always searching for different content, and in recent years we launched our first Filipino telenovela on our screen… It’s important that it meets… a love story, a deep drama, a love triangle, and a great villain.” She emphasized that these elements, along with exceptional production quality, render ABS-CBN dramas appealing to audiences due to their universal themes.

Following the success of “A Family Affair,” Ecuavisa introduced another ABS-CBN drama, “The Broken Marriage Vow,” inspired by the U.K. series “Doctor Foster,” created by Mike Bartlett and distributed by BBC Studios. ABS-CBN continues to expand its international reach by providing over 50,000 hours of content to more than 50 countries across various continents, including Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

ABS-CBN’s “A Family Affair” has not only captivated viewers in Ecuador, achieving high ratings, but has also established itself as a significant player in the telenovela market through its quality storytelling and production. The subsequent promotion of “The Broken Marriage Vow” strengthens ABS-CBN’s reputation for delivering compelling content worldwide.
