This site will house the new embassy headquarters along with the ambassador’s residence, marking a significant development in the area.
The agreement was signed by Khaled Abbas, Chairperson and Managing Director of ACUD, and Ambassador Albert G. Dole of Côte d’Ivoire, with representatives from both parties in attendance. Ambassador Dole expressed his contentment regarding the relocation of the embassy, noting that it aligns with the Ivorian President’s directives and underscores the strong ties between Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt.
In his remarks, Ambassador Dole stated, “We are delighted to be in the NAC… This move is a testament to the strong ties between our two nations.” He highlighted the advantages of the NAC, which boasts advanced infrastructure, modern transport networks, extensive green spaces, and enhanced living standards.
Khaled Abbas extended his gratitude to the ambassador, remarking, “We are pleased to sign this agreement, paving the way for the embassy’s relocation… The presence of Côte d’Ivoire’s embassy is a valuable addition to the district.” He pointed out the growing trend of embassies moving to the NAC, which further strengthens the area as an eminent diplomatic hub.
The master plan for the New Administrative Capital’s first phase includes the Diplomatic District, specifically designed to accommodate all foreign embassies and diplomatic missions currently located in Cairo. The initiative aims to establish a centralized, state-of-the-art diplomatic zone, enhancing the capital’s status as both a global and regional diplomatic center.
The agreement with Côte d’Ivoire’s Embassy aligns with ACUD’s ongoing initiatives to attract diplomatic missions to the New Capital, complementing its previous agreements, including the recent one with the Embassy of Algeria.
