President Zelenskyy confirms his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Key US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will participate in the talks on March 12.

It has been announced that four Ukrainian officials, including Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, will travel to Saudi Arabia for discussions with their American counterparts. In addition to Mr. Yermak, the officials also include Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, and Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the President’s Office.

The primary focus of the discussions will be to negotiate an agreement concerning minerals and to re-establish ties with Washington following a previous meeting between Presidents Zelenskyy and Trump, which ended unfavorably. Furthermore, President Zelenskyy has confirmed his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, March 10. After this engagement, the Ukrainian delegation will continue discussions with the American officials in Saudi Arabia.

“On our side, we are fully committed to constructive dialogue, and we hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps. Ukraine has been seeking peace from the very first second of this war. Realistic proposals are on the table. The key is to move quickly and effectively,” stated President Zelenskyy regarding the upcoming meetings.

The forthcoming negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations will center on the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Notably, Yermak will lead the Ukrainian delegation, which may include Defence Minister Rustem Umierov. It is reported that the American representatives will include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. According to Axios, the meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 12.

The upcoming discussions in Saudi Arabia involving Ukrainian officials highlight a significant effort to strengthen diplomatic relations with the United States while addressing crucial economic issues. The presence of high-ranking officials signifies the importance of these negotiations in the context of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian conflict. President Zelenskyy’s commitment to constructive dialogue underscores Ukraine’s proactive approach towards peace and resolution.
