In a televised discussion, Al-Thani addressed concerns about potential military actions against Iranian nuclear sites, noting, “Iran is our next-door neighbor, and we have to maintain a good relation with all our neighbors. President Trump indicated that significant developments might be forthcoming, as he considers negotiating a new nuclear agreement with Iran or pursuing alternative measures, possibly military. In contrast, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi has asserted that direct negotiations with the US will not commence until the current policy of pressure and threats is lifted.
