Great Quest Gold Ltd. has identified a new gold mineralized system at its Omatjete Project in Namibia and secured an earn-in agreement for an adjacent tenement, expanding its exploration coverage by 35 kilometers. Significant gold anomalies were detected through soil sampling, and the initial drilling results have shown promising mineralization, paving the way for further exploration and analysis.
Great Quest Gold Ltd. has announced significant developments at its Omatjete Project in Namibia, including the identification of a new gold mineralized system. The Company has secured an earn-in agreement for an adjacent tenement, expanding its exploration of the Okondeka Fault Zone by 35 kilometers. This announcement marks a major advancement for the Company and enhances its operational footprint in this mineral-rich region.
Exploration at Omatjete commenced with extensive soil sampling, revealing a significant arsenic anomaly measuring 7km by 5km, with peak values of 1,646 ppm As. Detailed soil sampling identified a gold anomaly stretching 4.2 km by 0.8 km, termed the Manga Prospect, which has several locations with notable gold values. The exploration has uncovered gold values as high as 9.95 g/t Au within altered biotite schists.
To validate these findings, Great Quest initiated an RC drilling program targeting specific soil anomalies in the Manga area. A total of 11 holes were drilled with results highlighting low-grade gold mineralization and several significant intersections. Notably, hole MRC006 reported 138m at 0.22 g/t Au from 71m depth, affirming the project’s potential for gold mineralization.
With the new earn-in agreement involving Belmont Mineral Exploration (Pty) Ltd., Great Quest is poised to acquire a controlling stake in a new Exclusive Prospecting License, further extending its coverage of the Okondeka Fault Zone. This strategic move is aimed at leveraging the expansive gold mineralization associated with this geologically significant fault zone.
Plans for upcoming work on the project include high-resolution drone surveys, in-depth soil sampling, and geological mapping. The Company also intends to conduct further drilling to define mining potential more accurately in the region, focusing primarily on the newly acquired tenement where the Okondeka Fault Zone extends.
