Wilson indicated that early voter turnout typically hovers around 14% of the registered voters, highlighting the current early voting figures; only 53 votes have been cast as of March 5, 2025, with an additional 51 requests for mail-in ballots. She encourages voters to become informed about the contested races by requesting a sample ballot.
Sandra Delhaye, Executive Director of the Danville Election Commission, emphasized the ease of registration, which can be completed even on Election Day at polling locations. She mentioned a recent change in laws allowing the County Clerk’s office to remain open for voter registration through Election Day, which enhances the accessibility to the voting process.
Voters are currently in the Grace Period of registration, which necessitates same-day voting upon registration. The County Clerk’s office and the Danville Election Commission both operate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, located at the Joseph G.
