In celebration of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, a collaboration initiated by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and endorsed by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has resulted in significant offerings from the nation’s leading telecom companies: MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana.
Hon. Sam George, the Minister of Communication, highlighted in a social media post that each provider will extend a limited-time Independence Day Data Bundle priced at GHS10, which now includes 6GB of data. This offer substantially enhances the standard service, which usually provides only 1GB or a maximum of 3GB during special promotions.
The minister affirmed the goal of creating mechanisms to foster a truly digitalized Ghana, enabling citizens to leverage global opportunities from their homes. To activate the Independence Day bundle, users must follow specific USSD protocols for each telecom provider.
For MTN Ghana users, one should dial 138, select Option 2 for Special Day Bundle, and choose the Independence Day package. Telecel Ghana users can acquire the bundle by dialing 700, navigating to the special data bundle section, and confirming the Independence Day offer. Similarly, AT Ghana users should dial *567, select Option 3 for Special Offers, and follow through with the prompts for purchase.
Furthermore, Minister Sam George reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to developing a comprehensive strategy aimed at reducing data costs sustainably. He announced that on March 7, 2025, a detailed plan will be presented to enhance internet accessibility, aligning it with Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Ghana’s 68th Independence Day is celebrated with a substantial internet data bundle offer from major telecom companies, significantly increasing data access for users. The Ministry of Communication aims to enhance internet affordability through a strategic roadmap. Users are encouraged to activate this limited-time offer promptly to gain maximum benefits, as data bundles will expire within three days post-activation.
