Muhammad Kabir-Sani, former AAC governorship candidate, along with ex-PDP members, joined the APC in Zamfara led by Aminu Jaji. The defection highlights APC’s perceived strengths and the commitment of former rival members to contribute to the party’s growth and development in the region.
In Zamfara, Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives representing the APC, welcomed Muhammad Kabir-Sani, a former governorship candidate from the African Action Congress (AAC), into the All Progressives Congress (APC). Kabir-Sani’s defection included former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ forum, all of whom joined through the Jajiyya APC political movement, led by Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka.
The announcement of their transition to the APC occurred during a gathering at Jaji’s residence in Gusau, where they were joined by several AAC and PDP members. Mr. Kabir-Sani remarked on their decision, emphasizing their confidence in Aminu Jaji’s representation and developmental achievements in Zamfara.
Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, a representative from the PDP candidates’ forum, reinforced their decision by stating that the APC is the leading political party in the state. He highlighted their productive discussions with Jaji, resulting in their commitment to the APC for the state’s development.
As the defector’s welcome, Jaji, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Fund, expressed gratitude for their decision to join APC. He characterized their actions as positive for the APC’s growth in Zamfara and stated that the defectors would receive fair treatment within the party.
Jaji expressed optimism that the political expertise of the defectors, particularly their leaders, would enhance the Jajiyya movement and the APC statewide. He encouraged the newcomers to remain active and contribute to the party’s development.
Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, chair of the APC-Jajiyya movement, described it as the most robust political entity in Zamfara, equipped with structures across all 14 local government areas. He assured the defectors of their engagement in party activities and encouraged unity and stability within the APC.
The defection of Muhammad Kabir-Sani and other members from AAC and PDP to the APC in Zamfara is a significant political development, indicating the growing strength of the APC in the state.
