We once again call on the parties for a ceasefire and peace to prevent further bloodshed.” Keceli further highlighted the need for all parties involved to refrain from actions that could threaten Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Keceli affirmed Türkiye’s readiness to offer necessary support for resolving the conflict swiftly and establishing peace, security, and stability in Sudan. The ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have resulted in over 20,000 fatalities and the displacement of 14 million individuals since mid-April 2023, according to the United Nations and local authorities. Presently, two million individuals in 27 locations in Sudan face potential famine, as reported by the World Food Program.
The international community and the United Nations continue to intensify their calls for an end to the hostilities, warning of a looming humanitarian catastrophe, as millions are at risk of starvation and death due to critical food shortages. The conflict has affected 13 out of Sudan’s 18 states, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
