Aquilino, Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Deputy Minister of Defense Muhammad Herindra from Indonesia, former Australian Prime Minister Dr. Kevin Rudd, and U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN Yohannes Abraham.
MILOPS 23 will delve into pressing challenges to the rules-based international order, including Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and its repercussions on security in the Indo-Pacific, excessive territorial claims in the South China Sea, and issues of illegal fishing. The conference aims to foster relationships, build consensus around the rule of law, and establish frameworks for ongoing cooperation.
An annual executive-level forum, MILOPS is co-hosted each year with a rotating partner nation. This year, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense serves as the co-host, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of the event in addressing contemporary security challenges in the region.
