On Wednesday, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) of Morocco and the Kingdom Judicial Agency (AJR) formalized a partnership at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. This agreement, signed by Minister Nadia Fettah, DGSN General Abdellatif Hammouchi, and AJR representative Abderrahman Lamtouni, seeks to bolster cooperation in defending state interests within judicial frameworks.
The partnership aims to prevent and manage litigation effectively and to enhance state defense in courts. A joint statement indicated that the collaboration would focus on risk assessment and improving legal expertise exchange. Additionally, the agreement endeavors to strengthen public administration’s credibility and efficiency.

To facilitate the successful execution of this partnership, a Steering Committee will be established to devise joint action plans and oversee collaborative efforts. Complementing this body will be a Technical Committee responsible for the deployment of action items approved by the Steering Committee.
This agreement builds on prior efforts by the DGSN to enhance institutional relationships, including a 2022 cooperation agreement with the National Human Rights Council focused on law enforcement training. A recent training initiative was launched addressing migration and Morocco’s obligations to protect migrant rights.
According to the DGSN’s annual report for 2024, significant achievements have been made, including a 10% decrease in violent crimes from the previous year. The report highlighted a total of 755,541 criminal cases resolved at a 95% rate, alongside the dismantling of 947 organized crime networks and the arrest of 1,561 suspects.
Digital transformation efforts were also noted, with nearly 4.7 million electronic national identity cards issued in 2024. Furthermore, the DGSN increased its international engagement by obtaining the Vice Presidency for Africa at Interpol during its recent General Assembly in Glasgow.
