Cameroon will see an investment of US$167 million directed towards the upgrading of four significant roads. The Ministry of Public Works (Mintp) is responsible for financing the maintenance of a road located in Lékié within the Centre Region, as well as the thoroughfare that connects Mbalmayo to Sangmelima in the Centre-South Region.
Additionally, funding will support the maintenance of the route between Up Hill and Amour Mezam in the North-West Region and the road from Mora to Tchakamari in the Far North Region.
Beyond the initial investment, a further $85 million is allocated for the maintenance and enhancement of ten additional projects throughout Cameroon. An impressive 1,337 kilometers of dirt roads will also receive maintenance works costing $66.3 million, which will ensure better connectivity to rural areas in the country.
These infrastructural improvements are expected to significantly enhance the transport sector in Cameroon, contributing positively to economic development. Furthermore, the upgrades are designed to alleviate transportation delays caused by seasonal flooding, particularly on major routes.
