Tomás Talarico Appointed Managing Director of Warner Music Southern Cone

Tomás Talarico has been appointed Managing Director of Warner Music Southern Cone, succeeding Guillermo Castellani, who remains as a consultant. Talarico previously founded MOJO, where he significantly impacted the music scene in Argentina and Chile. He brings a wealth of experience, having nurtured various emerging talents and successfully managed an independent music company for a decade.

Tomás Talarico has been appointed Managing Director of Warner Music Southern Cone, overseeing the company’s operations in Argentina and Chile. He succeeds Guillermo Castellani, who recently stepped down. Talarico, based in Buenos Aires, will report to Alejandro Duque, President of Warner Music Latin America. Castellani will continue as a consultant to facilitate a smooth leadership transition with Talarico.

Prior to joining Warner Music, Talarico founded and led the independent music company MOJO for the past decade. Under his guidance, MOJO became instrumental in promoting tropical and urban music across Argentina, Chile, and Peru, employing over 30 staff and collaborating with approximately 150 artists and labels. The company has released numerous certified singles and has received multiple awards, highlighting Talarico’s impact on the music industry in the region.

Talarico has also played a significant role in the careers of various emerging artists and was behind the successful project Un Poco de Ruido, which topped the Spotify chart in Argentina last year. Additionally, he has experience as a performer, having released five albums as a guitarist and singer-songwriter. His background includes pioneering digital music sales, setting a strong foundation for his current role.

Alejandro Duque expressed confidence in Talarico’s fit for Warner Music, highlighting his innovative approach to merging music with technology. “Tomás has an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of cultural curiosity that make him an incredible fit to Warner Music,” Duque stated. Furthermore, he acknowledged Castellani’s vital contributions to the music scene, particularly in nurturing talent such as Maria Becerra and Tiago PZK.

In response to his appointment, Talarico conveyed enthusiasm for joining Warner Music, expressing gratitude to Duque for his trust. He emphasized the significance of leveraging a major label’s resources to support exceptional talent in the region. Moreover, he paid tribute to Castellani for his leadership and contributions, recognizing the high standards set during his tenure.

Guillermo Castellani reflected on his career at Warner Music, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to develop a successful catalog in a supportive environment. He voiced his belief in Talarico’s potential to excel in his new role and continue advancing Warner Music’s influence within the Southern Cone music market.

Tomás Talarico is now the Managing Director of Warner Music Southern Cone, taking over from Guillermo Castellani. With his extensive experience in the music industry, particularly with MOJO, Talarico is poised to further enhance Warner Music’s presence in Argentina and Chile. Both Talarico and Castellani have expressed mutual respect and commitment to ensuring a smooth transition as they focus on nurturing emerging talent in the region.
